Meier Construction, Inc. was contracted to replace a terminated concrete subcontractor on the Essex Hollywood project. The project is located at the heart of Hollywood, CA, with challenging site logistics being that the project is located on Sunset Blvd. Meier was brought onto the project because of the great success we had on this client's other project, Evolution Warner Center. Meier completed that project ahead of schedule, worked through site constraints with the client's project team, and developed a confidence with the client in Meier's ability to successfully complete a project.

Meier's scope was to complete the remaining structural concrete work, and make repairs and patching of existing concrete work. The remaining work included 75% of the Level 2 Suspended Deck, a 45,000SF Level 3 Podium, miscellaneous concrete work in lower levels, shotcrete fill of perimeter tie-backs in B2 and B1 Basement Levels, clean-up of all existing construction waste and debris in basement, sacking and patching of all existing structural concrete columns and walls, all non-bearing CMU work, all remaining reinforcing work and removal of existing shoring rental left by previous concrete subcontractor.

Meier utilized the same reinforcing subcontractor that was already on this project to limit losses to client and maximize schedule. Meier's leadership, experience and open communication allowed for coordination between subcontractors to execute scope on schedule.

The General Contractor on this project is McCormick Construction Company.
